Steve Mikado

Founder, Managing Partner & Venture Architect

Steve Mikado is an entrepreneur and founder of Mikado Ventures with over 15+ years experience in the enterprise technology, retail, and FMCG space. Armed with Fortune 100 consulting experience, he is trusted by some of the biggest names in Australia and the world such as Salesforce, Telstra and Mondelez International. Steve is currently the Venture Architect of MVLab and investor in various Australian startups.

Pierre McKenzie

Co-Founder, Managing Partner

Pierre McKenzie is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor, with over 15 years of experience in the startup and technology space. A MIT graduate in Computer Science, he co-founded the SaaS startup Bluenote in 2007, serving as CTO for 7+ years until the company's $10m exit in 2015. Pierre is also an angel investor who has invested in various global tech ventures and currently a founder at DragonX Capital.

Daniel Gun Woo

Co-Founder, Venture Partner, Gaming SME

Dahn Gun-woo brings a unique blend of experience from his political background, gaming industry expertise, and dynamic entrepreneurship skills. He began his journey in the gaming industry at Lakes Entertainment where he played a pivotal role in developing and launching several successful games. His deep understanding of consumer behavior, paired with his lean innovative approach allowed him to start his own gaming business, and now applying his wealth of knowledge and diverse experience to identify and support startups with groundbreaking potential.

We take an idea and test it for product market fit before launching. Eliminating the many risks associated with startups that go through an accelerator or incubator. Once the venture is market tested, we go through a process to determine whether it would be more sustainable to have members of our team be the CEO of the company, or have external CEO partners take the helm and steer the future growth and scale of the startup.
